Bringing Generations Together Through Creativity
This week our students invited Swarthmore Care Home to take part in a creative workshop with the residents, and it was such a meaningful experience for everyone involved.
The workshop was all about bringing different generations together through creativity, conversation and shared experiences. Our students had the opportunity to listen to stories, learn from the residents, and build connections outside of the classroom, while residents enjoyed socialising, being creative and meeting new young people.
Intergenerational experiences like this are so important. They help students develop empathy, confidence and communication skills, while also helping to reduce loneliness and create a sense of community for older generations. It was a really special day and we’re so grateful to have been welcomed so warmly.
