Fashion A-Level Plus
The study of Fashion embraces contemporary, creative disciplines including fashion design, textiles and communication technologies. The relationship between textiles and fashion and other creative disciplines is stronger than ever. The possibility of merging different fields in the creation, selection and manipulation of textiles and fashion means students are expected to work in an extended range of disciplines and techniques. Both modern technologies and traditional techniques are explored in the creation of samples and designs.
At ISCA, students study for an A-Level Plus in Fashion, but have the added optional benefit of obtaining a Level 3 Fashion Portfolio Diploma. The course is structured so that in the first year students will study a broad range of technical skills as part of the Diploma programme. In the second year, the accelerated A-Level offers conceptual and academic skills in preparation for university study. This dual approach through two separate awards gives significant additional value to the study experience. In effect, students will leave ISCA with an A-Level Plus award, which makes them highly accomplished when it comes to applying for places on very competitive courses.
